A trip to Jinja for 2 days is a wonderful experience that includes some of the most excit9ng activities such as whitewater rafting and boat ride to Samuka Island. This tour that starts from Kampala takes us through the beautiful natural features along the 85km cover between the capital and Jinja town. Jinja is a historic area best known for the source of the Nile but also a great town of adventure where most tourists to the destination make lifetime memories due to the things done there.
Itinerary for the 2 days tour in Jinja
Day 1: Traveling from Kampala to Jinja
The morning starts with an early morning breakfast, then meet the driver guide who is ready to transfer you to Jinja, East of Kampala. The 2-2.5 hours journey has en route stop overs at Sezibwe waterfalls to watch the lovely landscape and also enjoy a short nature walk. As we continue with the journey, we stop again at Mabira forest where once again a nature walk with a local guide takes us through the beautiful tropical rainforest with the best sightings of birds and primates like black and white colobus monkey, baboons and more. Proceed with the drive after the exploration of the forest and drive through the vast sugar plantations t Jinja. A stop over at Bujagali falls to learn about how the scenic place has been of importance to the community and the spiritual beliefs of the locals about the falls.
Visit the source of the Nile and Samuka Island which is rewarding for bird watching.
Lunch en-route, Dinner and overnight at preferred lodge
Day 2: white water rafting
After having breakfast at the lodge, we head out to the water rafting starting point for briefing and dressing up for the activity. Rafting on the Nile in Jinja teaches you how to remain calm regardless of the pressure on water. Depending on your expertise in rafting, you are allowed to get to the appropriate rapids (graded 4 and 5). It starts calm and as you go further, there is a rough but thrilling and enjoyable point where you tip over, dive and face the challenge of the rapids.
At the end of the activity, we go for lunch and then set off for Kampala where we arrive in the evening.
